UI/UX Designer with SenseData Group
Designed a unique visual interface for hotel customers to purchase snacks and drinks at the hotel's lobby convenient store using dedicated kiosk iPads. Customers can either checkout items themselves using the self-checkout mode or hotel concierge can check out items using the hotel mode. Created a series of wireframes, high fidelity mockups and functional prototypes, as well as the html and css version of the designs for the developers to implement the code. This project was designed and developed for a firm in Denver and is currently being used at numerous large hotel chains across the United States.
With this custom app, hotel concierge or customers can zoom in/out of the hotel lobby store layout using familiar iPad device gestures and find products they want to purchase. These products are intuitively added to the cart below with the total amount shown.
The hotel cashier user can open the menu bar to view a list of past purchases, purchases that need to be settled with their hotel accounting software, perform an inventory count, switch to guest mode for customers to checkout on their own, sign out, etc.
Switching between the hotel lobby attendant and cashiers is a simple process of tapping a 4 digit code on the avatar.
The user can settle all the past purchases not yet entered into the hotel accounting software. If a purchase was made by a guest, that information will automatically be listed for users to settle at the end of each shift.
If the hotel concierge is busy with other customers, the self checkout mode on the iPad allows the customers to easily checkout themselves using card payments or charge to their final room bill.
The customer can enter their email address for easy receipts via email.
